回复 :结束了合唱班的活动，年轻女性莫莉·普尔（罗娜·米特拉 Rhona Mitra 饰）搭乘好友亚莉桑德拉·法罗（安德拉·罗素 Andrea Roth 饰）的车回家。汽车在某个隧道发生交通事故，亚莉桑德拉下车求助，结果遭遇一辆坏掉半边车灯的1972年款凯迪拉克Eldorado。车上所乘并非救命天使，而是全副武装、只有一只胳膊的变态杀人魔。他旋即对现场的生还者展开无情屠杀，最终只有莫莉侥幸逃脱。拥有多年工作经验的交通警威尔·麦克林（Frankie Faison 饰）根据现场的轮胎痕迹确信莫莉所言为真。与此同时，一名神秘男子也不断在莫莉周围出现。他叫詹姆斯·克雷（詹姆斯·卡维泽 James Caviezel 饰），五年前曾亲眼目睹爱妻被同一个杀人魔杀害。在此之后，他不断追踪对手的行踪，势要为妻子报仇雪恨……
